Every year Abeingo members have been participating in activities gear towards helping seniors in the community cope with stress.
The activities are funded by Woodgreen Community Services through the Outreach to Diverse Seniors Program. The Outreach to Diverse Seniors Program provides funding to small not-for-profit organizations operating in the boundaries of the Toronto Central Local Health Integration Network (TCLHIN) to provide culturally appropriate and accessible health education for ethno-specific seniors’ groups.
We carry out outreach and engage with communities to plan, implement and evaluate heath education workshops. We liaise and work together with Community Health Service Educators to implement a series of health education workshops with focus on prevention and management of chronic conditions.
